DAY 1

Context & Countryside
PRISHTINA OVERVIEW
We will meet in Prishtina for a traditional coffee and a short overview of Kosovo’s history, wine traditions and hospitality culture. A guided walk will include the National Library, Mother Teresa Cathedral and the old bazaar area.
CONTEMPORARY LUNCH
Enjoy lunch at a contemporary Kosovo restaurant with a focus on local ingredients and have your first taste of Kosovo wine by the glass.
GJAKOVA BAZAAR
After lunch we will travel to the city of Gjakova, home to the largest Ottoman-influenced bazaar in the Balkans. Stroll through the cobblestone streets and enjoy centuries-old craftsmanship, traditional shops and cafés. Visit key cultural and spiritual landmarks, including Hadumi Mosque and a historic Tekke. The day concludes in Gjakova with a traditional dinner and rakija welcome.
Kosovo’s wine story
RAHOVEC
Drive to Rahovec, a region with a history of wine production dating back to ancient Roman-Illyrian times. This city of vineyards offers spectacular views and unmatched hospitality.
LUNCH & TASTING AT LABI WINE
Experience a traditional Kosovar meal served with heart at a family-run, sustainable restaurant. Then visit a small, boutique winery where you will enjoy a tasting of small-batch, premium wine.
AFTERNOON TASTING AT KOSOVA WINE
This family-owned winery merges Kosovar traditions with North American production techniques. Enjoy a guided tasting and vineyard views before returning to Gjakova for dinner.

Terroir, Nature & Mountain Spirits
RAHOVEC VILLAGES
Explore the countryside where vineyards, orchards, and family homes sit side by side. Learn about the geography and terroir of the region and how soil, sun, and elevation shape Kosovo’s wines long before a grape reaches the cellar.
BODRUMI I VJETËR
Enjoy lunch among the vines. Then visit a winery in the heart of the city that began as a socially owned company and became an example of a successful, post-war private enterprise.
MIRUSHA WATERFALLS
Visit a protected natural park of limestone canyons, cascading waterfalls, and turquoise pools.
DINNER AND SUNSET
Enjoy a guided tasting and specially prepared meal from the garden at Norah Winery. Linger and experience the magic of sunset over surrounding mountains.
Monasteries & Rakija Ritual
DEÇANI MONASTERY
Visit Deçani Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set against a dramatic mountain backdrop, it offers a powerful introduction to the region’s layered history. The monastery is renowned for its deep, ruby-colored red wines, potent rakija, and sour cherry liquors.
RISONS DISTILLERY & RITUAL
Spend the evening immersed in the best of Kosovo hospitality and cuisine. Receive a tour and guided tasting featuring handcrafted rakia, liqueurs, and wines. Learn the stories behind their names and enjoy an extended dinner and conversation in this family-run, intimate setting.

Mountains & Food Traditions
PEJA
Explore Peja and the Patriarchate of Peja. Travel into Rugova Valley and enjoy mountain cuisine featuring trout, lamb, local cheese, and herbal teas. Learn about the foundations of Kosovo’s cheese culture, rooted in high-altitude grazing, seasonal movement, and raw milk traditions. Continue to Prizren for dinner by the river.
Prizren & Cheese Heritage
FAREWELL DINNER
Walk Prizren’s historic center and discover the region’s distinctive Sharr cheese, known for its depth of flavor shaped by alpine pastures and traditional aging methods. After a free afternoon for shopping or hiking, celebrate with a farewell dinner full of shared stories and reflection. The next morning, enjoy breakfast and a final coffee before returning to Prishtina for departure.
